Residents across Batemoor, Jordanthorpe and Loweges are being asked for their views on how the government’s new ‘trailblazing neighbourhood’ funding Pride in Place should be used.
Pride in Place is a long-term Government funded programme that will invest £20 million over the next ten years in Batemoor, Jordanthorpe and Lowedges, supporting projects that improve the local area and reflect the priorities of residents.
The programme represents a once in a generation opportunity for local people to help shape the future of their community, with neighbourhood boards playing a central role in deciding how funding is used and ensuring investment delivers meaningful change for local residents.
Residents and community groups are now being asked to complete a short survey to share their views on how they feel about their community and what projects and changes they would like to see over the next ten years. The survey will be open during the summer and closes on the 31st August.
Last month it was announced that Kris Mackay had been appointed as the independent Chair of the Batemoor, Jordanthorpe and Lowedges neighbourhood board, and with the rest of the board members now in place, residents are now being asked for their views.
Louise Haigh MP for Sheffield Heeley, said:
“I’m delighted that residents and the community will now have their say on what changes and improvements they want to see in their communities.
“This is a great opportunity for the community to shape their areas and what they want to see in the future. The success of this project will be dependent on having the local community at its heart.
“We have a great mix of local residents, community leaders and professionals on the board and I know that by working with the community, we can make real change to Batemoor, Jordanthorpe and Lowedges.
“I would encourage all residents to have their say and their voices heard.”
Kris Mackay, Independent Chair of the Batemoor, Jordathorpe and Lowedges neighbourhood board, said:
“This is a chance for local people to own the story of their community. We want to hear the big, bold ideas that could shape the future, alongside the quick wins that can make a difference sooner, because both matter in creating lasting change”

and have until Monday 31st August.
